Clothing Manager’s Report AGM 16th November 2015
It is now 18 months since the introduction of the new Evesham Wheelers club kit and we are now seeing increasing numbers of members on the club runs wearing the new design. We look very distinctive and can never be confused with any other clubs or individuals out on the road. The design has also been incorporated into the club website header, club stationary, banners, podium faces and laps to go boards for the road race giving us a cohesive graphic image to club events and communication.
This year we have increased our range of items to give a comprehensive choice of club clothing for most weather conditions. As well as Long and Short Sleeved Jerseys, Bib and Waist shorts and Gilets we now have Bib and Waist tights, Windtex Jackets, Track Mitts and Caps.
Over the course of the year I have continued to research and visit alternative suppliers to ensure that we are getting the best deal possible with our kit. This includes more local suppliers and others who have approached us. So far I have not found anyone who can offer us better service or value for money than Gear Club. We have a good relationship developed over time with Gear Club producing kit for both the Wheelers and the Ebrington cyclists and most recently Steve’s H-Bug group.
Our sales have been steady in the last 12 months and this has been helped by to a great extent by Carol who has very kindly kept stock at her home in Evesham making it easier for members to buy. I offer my thanks to Carol for helping me with this. We have sold 67 items to date and compares to 90 items sold in the previous 12 months. Our spending and stock is at a similar level to last year and we still have most items available in a range of sizes.
I would like to make it easier for club members to access clothing, to see what is available and to be able to try and to buy. So this is something to improve on over the next 12 months.
