Three Counties Audax 2016 Report
The 2016 Audax hosted by Evesham Wheelers took place on August 7th. There were three events this year. The three routes offered a choice of distances 50km, 110km and 200km, with increasing amounts of climbing along with distance. The number of entrants is as follows:
4 leaf clover 200k Entries 23 Starts 21 Completed 18 2 Leaf Clover 110k Entries 59 Starts 52 Completed 38 Clover Leaf 50k Entries 14 Starts 13 Completed 12
The event took place in good weather conditions with healthy breeze. There appeared to be a high level of enjoyment among the entrants and helpers with many positive comments. Nobody to my knowledge parted company with their equipment during the event.
The event made £380.88 for the club, with a healthy contribution from the wonderful catering.
The success of the event would not have happened without the help of Rosie Hutchinson, Janet Hollerton, Pam Jenkins, Caroline James & Sue Kendall on the Catering, along with my daughter Phoebe who has agreed to take the catering forward. John Jenkins for help with the hall and setup. Clive Hall for running the car park. Richard Cowley for helping on the administration on the day. John James for his help and advice and last but not least invaluable help from Pete Hutchinson.
I greatly enjoyed the event and would like to take Audax side of Evesham Wheelers forward. I will be bringing forward my ideas in due course.
Neil Robinson.
