“Cycle Technician Certificate” at South Worcs. College, Evesham

This Level 2 qualification is aimed at learners who wish to develop understanding and skills in the building, servicing,
repair and maintenance of cycles. This qualification also suits individuals with a keen leisure interest in cycles.
Learners will develop their knowledge of how to:
• Complete a cycle safety check
• Complete a puncture repair looking at both Tubs and Clinchers
• Remove and replace gear assembly, rim brake assembly, hub bearings, bottom brackets, cranks and gear systems (both
Shimano and Campagnola)
• Build and true cycle wheel
• Prepare frames and forks
• How to correctly set up a cycle for a rider (correct riding position and frame sizing)
• Change a cycle frame
• Service headset assemblies
• Hydraulics brake systems
• Basic suspension set up
